Mrs. Valerie Suge – Michieka is a critical care and Emergency nurse specialist with a wide experience in Acute medical surgical nursing ( critical and emergency care), Nursing administration, and research. She has a Master of Science in Nursing (Critical care – option) from University of Nairobi, a BSc. In Nursing from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton and currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing Sciences at The University of Nairobi.

Ms. Valerie is a lecturer, at the Kabarak University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the pioneer Head and chair of Nursing Department where she champions young nurses’ empowerment both in academia and in clinical practice. She is passionate in improving the quality of nursing practice and client’s health outcomes through evidence-based research and quality education.

Valerie is an  accomplished Researcher with interests in Health care related research (Emergency care, sexual and reproductive health and mental and psychiatric emergencies) and a Nurse educator with over 12 years of experience both in public and private universities in Kenya. She is a leader and a mentor for the youth who loves to precept, mentor and empower others to resolve current issues and develop coping strategies while acknowledging their strengths, talents and gifts.

 Ms. Suge has also contributed optimally as a content developer and a curriculum expert towards the development of professional Nursing practice and Nursing education in Kenya as a consultant with the Nursing Council of Kenya.

As a critical and emergency care expert, Valerie has learnt true interprofessional collaboration which she considers a privilege and a value towards making a difference in other people’s lives.
